LBC RONDA PILIPINAS ANNOUNCES QUALIFYING ROUNDS

We are now inviting cycling professionals and enthusiasts to gear up for the qualifying rounds which will take place throughout the month of May.

Who can apply for the LBC Ronda Pilipinas Qualifying Rounds?

Male, Filipino citizen, at least 19 years of age.
How many Qualifying Rounds will there be?

Five. Three in Luzon, and one each in the Visayas and Mindanao.
What are the schedules for the Qualifying Rounds?

Luzon Qualifying Rounds in Tarlac City.

A total of nine (9) teams will represent Luzon.

Visayas Qualifying Round in Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Thursday, May 12, 2011 for all provinces in the Visayas.

A total of two (2) teams will represent the Visayas.

Mindanao Qualifying Round in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.

Sunday, May 15, 2011 for all provinces in Mindanao.

A total of two (2) teams will represent Mindanao.

How many teams will be formed for LBC Ronda Pilipinas?

A total of 13 teams with six members each will be part of Ronda Pilipinas. The teams will be formed by determining the top six (6) riders per Qualifying Round according to order of finish. Qualifying riders will represent the location they represented in the Qualifying Rounds:
Ilocandia
Cagayan Valley
Pangasinan 1 - West & Central
Pangasinan 2 - East
Nueva Ecija
Central Luzon
National Capital Region
Southern Tagalog
Bicolandia
Visayas 1 & 2
Mindanao 1 & 2
How will the Qualifiers be chosen to form the Regional/Provincial Teams?

The Top 6 by “Order of Finish”
In every Qualifying round, Ronda Pilipinas will only accept the Top 6 riders per province/region. The riders who make the cut have to sign a conforme signifying their commitment to be ready for LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2011 and ride together as a Team under their provincial/regional flag and/or trade name.
The Organizers reserve the right to tap the 7th placer and any rider thereafter in case any of the Top 6 cannot compete, qualify or be present for LBC Ronda Pilipinas.
The Organizers reserve the right to determine the final number of teams for LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2011.

Individual aspirants must properly fill-out an application form.
Applicants must sign a Quit Claim & Waiver form certifying that they are able and fit to compete among others.
There is absolutely NO entry fee. Applicants must mail their entry forms along with clear photocopies of Identification Documents and signed Waiver via LBC or personally deliver to:

Applicants must be able to provide proof of identity and must present the Original Documents on Qualifying Day for verification. No original copy, No Race.
Any of the following Identification Documents is acceptable:
NSO authenticated Birth Certificate
Passport
Voter’s ID
Driver’s License
An applicant may choose to qualify in a particular round based on either:
Place, Region, Province of Birth
Residence of at least 6 months
BUT an applicant may only try to qualify ONCE.
What are the prizes of LBC Ronda Pilipinas?

There will be a total of more than P7 million in prizes including the top individual prize of P1 million and the top team prize of another P1 million.

Prizes are tax free.
When is LBC Ronda Pilipinas taking place?

From September to October 2011.
How long is the race course?

The race will consist of a 20-day route of 12 stages, at about 140 kilometers per stage for an estimated total distance of 1650 kilometers.
